You may ask, what exactly makes clothing eco-friendly? Well, eco-friendly clothing uses materials and production practices that put less of a strain on demand for our planet’s scarce resources, use less chemicals that harm our planet, reduce toxic wastes, support animal rights, and support fair trade that protects workers’ rights. Overall, eco-friendly products benefit us all around.
Did you know that it takes approximately 1,800 gallons of water to grow enough cotton to produce just one pair of jeans? With this in mind, making conscious decisions about our clothing choices can really make a difference. Eco-friendly products are becoming more favorable among our generation that values a green lifestyle. As you may notice, more people are adopting the practice of substituting plastic bottles for reusable ones. More people are also trying to eat more organic foods or are becoming vegans or vegetarians, for example. Brands like Lush Cosmetics and Colourpop are positively acknowledged because they ensure that their products are free of any type of animal testing and do not stand for animal cruelty. As the world of creativity and fashion is important, so is eco-friendly life choices. When us groovalutionaries come together, we can help to conserve energy and prevent air, water and noise pollution with our choices, and it can start with buying eco-friendly clothes.
